ABOUT
Sam Hudson is an indie-alternative singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, bass, ukulele), and DIY producer currently based in Toronto. Originally from Kent County, New Brunswick, Hudson’s music reflects his journey through spiritual awakening and is characterized by his touch on the piano (think Chris Martin of Coldplay) as well as hooky melodies and lush harmonies (The Beatles).
Hudson’s first EP, Human (March 2024), is a collaboration with JUNO nominated and platinum selling producer Thomas McKay. Inspired by his journey through mental illness and the intense disassociation that came with his spiritual awakening, Hudsons first body of work is whimsical, thought provoking and challenges the listener to look at themselves. “I find the hypocrisy of the modern age fascinating,” says Hudson. “It’s like we have forgotten we are all human.”
Hudson’s debut single, “Icarus”, (2021) reached the top 100 of the Canada wide CBC Music’s Searchlight Competition via audience voting. “Icarus” was also nominated for Music New Brunswick’s video of the year award and has been featured on the radio shows CBC Shift and CBC Morning with Joanna Brewer and on CHSR-FM (Fredericton). When not in the studio or performing Sam can be found drinking coffee, cycling or watching stand-up comedy.
